CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Woman dragged by her hair out Chattanooga bar for not wearing mask

Bliss Causby alleges she did not initiate the confrontation or act aggressively. She denies any claims of her swinging at said security guard or kicking her.

Bliss Causby can be seen being pulled across the floor by her hair by security on video captured by an onlooker at the Chattanooga Billiard Club (CBC) on Cherry Street.

As the female security continues to drag her further along the floor of the popular bar downtown, Causby can be heard screaming in a video shared on Instagram that Causby said is both embarrassing and infuriating.

She said it all happened because she was asked to wear her mask by security.

“Some hair was pulled out; my face was puffed and swollen. My neck hurts. I had horrible bruises on my arm and my back,” she said.

According to a report filed with the Chattanooga Police Department, Causby put on a mask when asked to but later took it off while in the bar.

The report says that when she was asked a second time to put the mask on, she was told to leave.

“I asked her why and then she got really aggressive and pushed me. And I asked her not to put her hands on me,” Causby said. “That is when she grabbed me by my hair and threw me to the ground.”

Causby alleges she did not initiate the confrontation or act aggressively. She denies any claims of her “swinging” at said security guard or kicking her.

She also said the video doesn’t tell the entire story.

“Hit me in the face, hit me in the head, started kicking me and that is when a guy friend came over and pulled me out of there,” she said.

Causby said she reached out to CBC management, even personally showing up asking for the surveillance video, after the incident.

“I filed a complaint with them and they said they didn’t know the name of the company they were using,” she said.

Causby said the video was not given to her because she did not have a subpoena, and nothing happened with the complaint she says she filed with the bar.

Channel 3 also reached out to CBC and the security guard about Causby being dragged across the floor and then allegedly punched.

The bar owner told Channel 3, she had no comment and we have not heard back from the security guard.

Hamilton County currently requires face coverings to be worn at all times when indoors in all public and private buildings.

Causby said she was drinking so that is why she did not have on her mask.

She said she is currently talking to an attorney in regards to what she called a humiliating experience that she hopes does not happen to anybody else.

The Chattanooga Police Department said they are still investigating the incident.
